Futsal Modifications

Unless otherwise noted, FXA follows the US Futsal Laws of the game:

The FXA laws of the game apply, with the following differences:

Team Roster

  • Each team must consist of at least 5 players, and no more than 10 players. FXA recommends having 8 players on the roster to ensure you can field a team.

  • The game consists of 4 field players and 1 goalie

  • A team must have at least 3 players to avoid a forfeit

Substitutions

  • Unlimited substitutions are allowed

  • Players do not need permission from the referee to enter the court. The player entering the court cannot enter until the player exiting has completely exited.

Length of Match

  • The match will play 2 - 20 minute halves, with a 5 minute halftime

  • There will be no extra time awarded

  • The teams may have 1 - 1 minute time out in each half, these timeouts do not carry over and may only be taken at a dead ball

Game Play

  • There is no offsides in futsal

  • Goalkeepers have 4 seconds to release the ball from their possession

  • There are no throw ins
